My Favorite Treasury ... Ever! Patination

Vintage Tin and a Dozen Wooden Spools by SimplySuzula
During more than three years as an Etsy seller, I've seen hundreds, maybe thousands, of absolutely gorgeous treasuries curated by other Etsians.

When I say that SimplySuzula's "Patination" is my all time favorite treasury, what I mean is that this one has lifted me right out of my chair and sent me soaring above the tree tops. (And I'd say this even if Suzula hadn't so kindly honored me with inclusion in her treasury.)

I could go on and on praising this treasury, as well as the wonderful Etsian who so skillfully put it together, but it doesn't need words from me. It speaks for itself.

The Annual Ugly Tomato Contest 2011 - And the Winner is ...

2009 Winner:
Mister I. Mugly
Around this time every summer, Rough Magic Mollie and Prospero Joe sponsor a contest to choose the "Ugly Tomato" of the season.

The rules are simple. To be eligible, contestants must be:
1) Tomatoes
2) Grown in one of our deck containers
3) Ugly

Because last year's contest resulted in a bit of untoward fraternizing between contestants and judges (as seen below), we were forced to maintain the integrity of the event by declaring all entrants ineligible and turning them into salsa.

The Miscreants of 2010

This summer, after stern warnings from the sponsors, we are pleased to announce that the contest was a huge success.

The impartial judges conferred.
Luke, Duke and Chubby
And reached a unanimous decision.
Aye. Aye. Aye.
The Second Runner-up ...

Miss Iva Biggins
The First Runner-up ...

Mister Hap E. Golumpy
And the 2011 Winner is (drum roll Maestro, please!)...

Miss R. U. Kidding
After a free session of Rough Magic cosmetic surgery (courtesy of the sponsors), Miss Kidding will receive an all expense paid trip to the famous Salad Bowl in scenic Down East Maine, where she will be adorned with the dressing of her choice (some restrictions apply).

In the absence of a winner for 2010, Miss Kidding claims her title from our 2009 Champion Ugly Tomato, Mister I. Mugly (top left photo) who, having already received his prize, was unavailable for comment.
