Snowbound and Loving It

Looking out our front door this morning, I should have known we wouldn't be making our Post Office run today.

Not that we didn't try. Barely made it out of the garage. We also decided we'd bring in some firewood. Ha! When I opened the door out back, the icy blast almost knocked me off my feet.

But there are always compensations to being snowbound.

When we are closed in, the rest of the world is closed out. And that can be very nice indeed.

We have time, and a good reason (not to say excuse) for doing exactly as we please. That includes curling up with a cozy mystery story, cooking up a spicy something or other for dinner, doing some judicious "window shopping" online, and with our dooryard a winter wonderland, simply enjoying the view.

I could get spoiled to this kind of wintry mix. Which is probably a good thing, as the forecast is calling for another couple of blasts heading our way later in the week.

Stay safe and warm and cozy, everybody!

  4. I think I need to print out your beautiful winter woodland picture. Then I can look at it when we're over the 110 degree mark in Vegas this summer and maybe, just maybe, it will feel a few degrees cooler. Gorgeous treasury!

    1. Aha! So that's what that rattling sound was! I thought it was ice hitting the roof. Can't wait to see that neon!
